What is a URL slug?

A slug is the human-readable part of a URL that identifies a page — the bit after your domain, like /local-seo-new-york/. Clean slugs help users and search engines understand the page, can earn keyword relevance, and look trustworthy when shared.

This generator transliterates accented and non-Latin characters to ASCII, lowercases everything, removes punctuation and (optionally) filler stop-words, then joins the remaining words with single hyphens.

How to use it
